Mission: 

Rooted Foundation seeks to elevate the African-American student voice in issues of educational equity by imparting them with cultural knowledge, leadership development, and organizing their power in order to create positive, student-centered change in schools and communities across America.

 

Goal:

Our goal is to cultivate 500 student organizers who will take on issues impacting educational equity for African-American youth in 5 American communities by 2020.

 

Purpose: 

Rooted Foundation's purpose is to reverse the effects of historical trauma by building collective identity and leadership among African-American high school students and their families so they become activists for educational equity.
